Anupam Kher (born March 7, 1955) is an Indian actor, director and producer who works primarily in Hindi-language films. He has appeared in nearly 400 films and 100 plays. He has played a variety of characters including numerous critically acclaimed leading or parallel roles. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution in the field of Indian cinema and arts. Kher is known internationally for Bend It Like Beckham (2002), Bride and Prejudice (2004) and The Mistress of Spices (2005). In 2012, he co-starred in the Academy Award-winning Silver Linings Playbook.

Nana Palshikar was an Indian actor who appeared in over 80 Hindi films. He made his film debut in 1935 with Dhuwandhar, and went on to play character roles in both Hindi mainstream and arthouse films. He was also cast in small parts in a few international productions such as Maya, The Guru and Gandhi.

Jaya Bachchan (née Bhaduri; born April 9, 1948) is an Indian actress and politician. Celebrated for her work in Hindi and Bengali films since her teenage debut in 1963, she has won eight Filmfare Awards and the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour awarded by the Government of India. Lata Mangeshkar was an Indian playback singer and occasional music composer. She was the best-known and most respected playback singer in India. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award was bestowed on her in 1989 by the Government of India. She was also the second vocalist, after M. S. Subbulakshmi, to have ever been awarded the Bharat Ratna in 2001, India's highest civilian honor. She was the first Indian to perform in Royal Albert Hall in 1974. She was conferred France's highest civilian award (Officer of the Legion of Honour) in 2007. Due to all of her achievements, many singers and musicians consider her to be one of the greatest female singers in the Hindi film industry.
